Mr. Newman is a partner in the firm. He is Board Certified in Aviation by The Florida Bar and holds an AV® peer-review rating from Martindale Hubbell, the highest peer rating an attorney can achieve. 

  

Mr. Newman is admitted to practice before the Florida courts and the Federal courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida.  His primary focus is on Aviation Law, Premises Liability, and Products Liability Claims. He has represented clients in aviation-related claims in Florida, Arizona, New Mexico, Connecticut and Saudi Arabia.


Mr. Newman is an FAA-certified Commercial Pilot and holds multi-engine airplane, single-engine airplane, instrument, and helicopter ratings. He has flown over 1500 accident, incident and violation free hours in various types of airplanes and helicopters. He recently retired after serving 18 years with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office as a Reserve Police Officer. Of those, he spent six years in the Sheriff's Aviation Unit flying hundreds of hours performing search and rescue, drug interdiction, aerial surveillance and prisoner extradition missions in the department's six airplanes and helicopters. He also worked in other areas of the police department, including patrol, vice and narcotics.

   

Mr. Newman received his Juris Doctorate with honors from the Florida Coastal School of Law. His professional affiliations include: The Florida Bar, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the American Association for Justice, the Florida Justice Association, the Jacksonville Bar Association, the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association and the NTSB Bar Association. Mr. Newman is also an adjunct professor at Florida Coastal School of Law.

 

Mr. Newman was born in Jacksonville, Florida; he is married and has one son.
