A full time, in-house Legal Nurse Consultant, Marleen has been a Registered Nurse for over 40 years, mainly in the Jacksonville area. She is certified in Legal Nurse Consulting, a specialty of nursing, and is also a Florida-licensed Healthcare Risk Manager. Marleen's experience in, and understand of, nursing practices, in a variety of healthcare settings, and from staff nursing to Administration, is invaluable in evaluating clients' medical records. She has been associated with and offered guidance to our attorneys for more than a decade, and works tirelessly to educate the attorneys and staff on medical/nursing problems and procedures. Working in concert with Dr. Weinstein, she also participates in interviewing potential new clients and assessing the viability of cases.
Marleen is active in the local chapter of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC), holding offices from Secretary to President. She has taught classes on medical terminology to attorneys and paralegals, taught understanding Joint Commission to Risk Manager candidates, and has taught Risk Management issues to LNC candidates. She also mentors nurses new to the specialty of Legal Nurse Consulting through the LNC Intern program at Spohrer & Dodd. Marleen has travelled around the world as the daughter of a career Air Force pilot, and holds a private pilot's license with an Instrument rating.
