Spohrer Dodd is supporting the Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Florida’s First Coast, Inc. as a sponsor for their “There’s No Place Like Home” 2019 fundraiser.
A guardian ad litem is a person who is chosen by a court to represent minor individuals who are involved in legal proceedings. The non-profit Guardian ad Litem Foundation has represented abused and neglected children in Northeast Florida’s courts for over 35 years. The program’s volunteers are trained and appointed by the court to advocate for children’s best interest in a legal setting. They also provide shoes, clothing, and school supplies to kids.
The “There’s No Place Like Home” fundraiser will benefit the Guardian ad Litem Program’s volunteer recruitment and training efforts. On Friday, November 15, 2019, event attendees will enjoy food, a champagne drawing, live auctions, silent auctions, and live music from The Chris Thomas Band. The event will take place from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Duval County Courthouse’s 3rd Floor Atrium, which will be decorated like the Emerald City! The fundraiser is a “The Wizard of Oz”-themed event — according to the dress code, guests should wear ruby slippers or a red tie. The Duval County Courthouse is located at 501 W Adams St. in Jacksonville, FL.
Tickets for the fundraiser are $100, or $75 for “young professionals/under 35.” To purchase tickets, interested individuals can visit the “Events” tab on the Guardian ad Litem Foundation website, https://galfirstcoast.org/. Their website includes further information on their mission, volunteer program, and other initiatives as well. You can also follow the foundation on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram at “GALFirstCoast.”
The Spohrer Dodd team is passionate about assisting our community, and is thankful for the opportunity to support the Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Florida’s First Coast, Inc. Thank you to all of the other sponsors and the host committee for their work on the 2019 fundraiser!
