Spohrer Dodd Wins “Crowd Favorite” in 2019 YLS Charity Chili Cook-Off

Spohrer Dodd won “Crowd Favorite” and tied for third for “Most Original” at the 2019 Jacksonville Bar Association, Young Lawyers Section (YLS), “Chili Cook-Off” this past Saturday, February 16^th. This was our firm’s third year participating in this fun and charitable event.

Our legal team was named “Excited Utterance” in the competition and our “Chefs” were outfitted with chef hats since we were a “Jalapeno Pepper” Sponsor. Additionally, we wore “Best Buddies” t-shirts in support of the charity that is dedicated to helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IID) form meaningful friendships and live successful, thriving lives.

Not only are we proud of our success at the cook-off, but we are also honored to contribute to a great cause which has a significant impact on our local community. Our Jacksonville personal injury attorneys would like to thank those who attended for supporting Best Buddies and trying our chili.

In fact, the non-profit organization is the real winner of the event. Due to a record turnout regarding both attendance and donations, our estimates calculate that we exceeded our goal of raising $15,000 on behalf of Best Buddies.

For those who attended the 2019 YLS Charity Chili Cook-Off, please let us know if you have any feedback (positive or negative) to help improve the event for years to come. We’re aware of electrical issues and a shortage of supplies (spoons in particular), but any feedback is much appreciated.
