Every year the Jacksonville Bar Association Young Lawyers Section (YLS) hosts a “Chili Cook-Off” for charity – and every year, our legal team at Spohrer Dodd is excited to participate in this friendly competition for a worthy cause! Held on Saturday, February 15th at the Riverside Arts Market in Jacksonville, the event raised money to support the deaf and hard-of-hearing students at Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech. More than 50 law firms participated in the event.
By bringing our enthusiasm (and our best chili recipes) to the table for the fourth year running, our team “Excited Utterance” won “Most Spirited” in the Chili Cook-Off; a first for our Jacksonville personal injury lawyers. At the 2019 cook-off, we also won “Crowd Favorite” and tied for third in “Most Original.”
While we were excited to win another title this year, Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech was the true winner of this event. A local non-profit institution, Clarke empowers deaf and hard-of-hearing children to succeed by instilling listening, learning, and speaking skills. On behalf of our firm, we’d like to thank all the law firms that participated in the event and supported this important organization.
Congratulations to all the teams that won in this year’s cook-off! We hope to see you all again next year.
